So, United States and other western countries wanted to save Pakistan’s and the Government of Pakistan’s reputation, as much as they can. They chose Abdul Qadir Khan, an outstanding scientist and Physicist, and still a huge hero in Pakistan, as the scapegoat and all the blame was transferred to him. Story was made that poor Pakistani government had absolutely no clue about, what he was doing while he sold this extremely expensive technology to two countries. How ridiculous and stupid? But, the corporate media and sold out politicians did propaganda with so much force and intensity that most people in western world believed this story. It is worth to mention here that big corporations particularly the oil companies have major stakes in attack on Iraq. Despite all the continuous and intensive propaganda against A. Q. Khan, isn’t it ironic that the ultimate proof against him, financial transactions related to these deals, were never made public, and the corporate media and sold out politicians never asked for it or never tried to make them public. I guess you know why? Because these transactions prove, without any doubt, that A. Q. Khan was not the recipient of these transactions. Finally, Pakistan was once again aligned with United States and other western countries in the war against terror. This was sin committed by Pakistan that terrorist and extremists can never forgive. Acts of terrorism became a routine in Pakistan. Various international agencies and organizations have reported that Pakistan remains the country, most effected by terrorism.

Pakistan witnessed a contraction in both of its exports and imports in 2009 while global economic crisis led to a decline in exports by 6 percent, imports contracted at a much faster rate by 11 percent due to lower domestic demand coupled with massive fall in international oil prices, the report said.
Fiscal deficit has been rising in recent years, standing at 7.6percent of GDP in 2008 and in Nov. 2008, the government of Pakistan signed a $7.6 billion, 23-month Stand-By Arrangement with the International Monetary Found (IMF) to support the country’s stabilization programme and help the country remedy balance of payments difficulties, the report added.
“Fiscal performance improved substantially in 2009 due to more stringent fiscal policy. The budget deficit came down to 5.2 percent of GDP.”
While performance on the revenue side was not very encouraging, the fiscal improvement in 2009 was largely based on reduction in oil subsidies and development spending which is likely to impinge on the medium-term growth rate, the report said.”
