This subreddit is intended to be a discussion forum for MechWarrior Online, a new entry in the long BattleTech/MechWarrior line of games.
This submission will provide some guidelines on what behavior/conduct will and will not be tolerated, what action moderators may take against users, and what recourse users have from those actions.
Spam Prevention
In an effort to prevent issues with spam on this subreddit, moderators may take actions against users or comments which are deemed to be "spam’. Spam in the case of the /r/mwo subreddit, involves; posting the same comment in single or multiple submissions, posting minor variations of a comment in single or multiple submissions, or derailing submissions with unrelated chatter.
If you feel that your posts or your user has been maligned, contact the moderators, and we’ll work it out.
Conduct
Users are expected to post in a civil manner. This means no:
User bashing/insulting
Spamming/Flooding
Trolling
User Impersonation
Naming/Shaming – support@mwomercs.com is equipped to handle those types of issues
As long as the discussion at hand is relevant to MechWarrior Online, positive or negative, it can be considered fair game.
Moderator Actions
We have several tools at our disposal, most of which will involve being notified that they are being used on your account. If you receive a notification that you have been either Temporarily Banned, or Permanently banned from /r/mwo, you may appeal the decision by messaging the moderators. There are other actions which you may not receive a notification for, such as post removal, or shadowbanning.
If you believe that your account has been wrongly affected by a moderator action, please message the moderators to work out the issue.
/r/mwo Affiliations
This subreddit, and its moderators, are unaffiliated with PGI or any other official entity. The moderators may belong to various MWO communities, such as cReddit, but decisions made by them are unrelated to their personal affiliations.
