I still owe you my opinion about Star Trek Continues (extra spoiler free, so nothing to the content of the episode but the whole workmanship). To make it short: I finds great!
Gazing at the first episode (Pilgrim Of Eternity) I had a lot of fun. Because simply came to the good old feeling TOS. The whole look is just right, the story engages with Apollo back on familiar and well I liked. In the future I would however like to see completely separate episodes occur. Clear references to what we know (and love) are always good, but I think that Star Trek Continues has the potential to be a bit bolder and can tell stories that are not just continuations of other episodes but really standalone stories. The trio of Kirk, Spock and pill can also convince. In fact, I’m surprised positively overall quality of the acting, as I expect from "Fanserien" really nothing. Just as with the effects, which are also very good. And the brightly lit walls are there too! And the chic 60s hairstyles! And Uhura sings!
What is new is that the enterprise has received a Counselor and a holodeck. This is probably just due to the newer series. Let’s see how this fits into the TOS world. Although the holodeck gives me a little abdominal pain, because actually only the 24th Century have holodeck held on the ships of Starfleet collection but on the other hand, there was indeed such an Enterprise episode where the Enterprise crew encounters a nation that already has about appropriate technology (you know, this dazzling Holoraum).
So simply wait times. I definitely liked it and I will just watch the upcoming episodes sure. 🙂
