Thought I’d share this with the community, just in case anyone might want to do something similar.
With the new iPhone application, DuoLingo allows you to see how many lessons are in each future category (before they are unlocked). This morning I noticed that I had been pretty active the last week and it got me thinking about my activity, which culminated in me calculating how long it would take for me to finish the DuoLingo Lesson Tree if I did one new lesson per day, every day, until it was done.
From my current position in the tree, this is what I came up with and saved in a Notepad file for future recording.
If starting tomorrow, October 14th, 2013, I do one duolingo lesson per day, I’ll be done on June 2nd, 2014.

Basically, every day, I plan on recording at least one lesson. If I do more than one or less than one I’ll add the difference to Current +/-, so that I have an idea of when I’ll be finishing.
I plan on doing a few practise sessions on top of each lesson as well, but I don’t feel like that’s actually worth recording.
I’m in my final year in university and have been trying to find the motivation lately to do DuoLingo on top of everything else I’m dealing with. I think this is exactly what I need. Maybe it will work for you too.
