We saw the Surface Pro price tag going down couple of times and we can say this is the last time we’re going to see this. Microsoft has been trying hard to make you like their devices but it seems that their tablet products just won’t get popular, after all. This time, Microsoft gives you an offer that you can’t refuse and if you were hesitating whether you want to buy it or not, now it’s the time to take advantage because there will be no other price cuts.
According to citing sources of ZDNet, the last discounted price that was introduced earlier this month is here to stay. This includes only the US countries and there are no certain details about the global market. Alongside the price cut of the Surface Pro, the Touch Cover and Surface RT also having their prices cut. We are still not positive if these prices are official in the other markets but we saw Microsoft Australia and UK official Websites also showing discounted price of these devices and accessories.
Let’s cut to the chase and see what happens now with the prices. In the United States, the Surface Pro’s price drop of $100 will stay and you can get the $64GB version for $799. Accessories that are going with this device are now $40 off which makes the Touch Covers starting at $79. The Limited edition Touch Covers’ prices are also reduced and will cost you $89.
If you are interested in the Surface RT device alongside with its cover, you’ll get them for $50 less than its original price.
These promotions were meant to last through August 29. According to a company’s spokesperson, Microsoft is spreading this promotion globally and it will last permanently. According to another source, few countries from Europe have already slashed the price of the Surface Pro for €100. The UK website shows the 64GB version of the Surface pro for £639 down £80 from its original price. People living in the U.K can order the 128GB Surface Pro for £719. The touch covers are discounted for £35 and they are offered now for £64.99.
On Microsoft’s official website in Australia, the Surface Pro is listed for AU$899 down from AU$999. Microsoft hasn’t commented whether these prices will take place anywhere in the world later or it will be only these countries that noted a discount.
This company had troubles keeping pace with its competitors on the tablet market. People just weren’t interested about these devices because their focus was turned towards the iPads and Kindle Fire HD devices. Maybe with the new Windows 8.1 these tablets will receive the expected respect.
