Greetings Lovely Bassheads.
Thank you for the positive response to my last post found here. This was originally a joke that turned into reality over a skype session. After a few things fell into place, notably an awesome friend of ours who had the power to hook my family up with two VIP passes, my convincing was complete.
The Bassnectar following is a very interesting subculture and I wanted my family to gain perspective into this as it has been something I have loved over the years. It kind of served as a tangible replication of my presence, as I haven’t seen them in awhile, but also a way for them to bear witness to something unbelievable and have a blast on a Monday night.
So I requested my sister film the opening of his set, because he always blows peoples’ minds especially during the opening (last year he destroyed it with Here We Go). As his remix of Head’s Up seemed to over-fulfill peoples’ anticipation, I could see my mom in the frame laughing and in complete awe, like ‘What is this Sorcery?’.
Overall, they loved it and their testimonials really put things into perspective about why we do this, especially what my mom laid on me via text after the show:
It was indescribable…a wizard creating a huge bonfire of sound and imagery for an immense tribal gathering that all moved together like a kaleidoscopic organism…my head is still vibrating! Not sure how I will sleep…!

I feel like I was introduced to a new portal of consciousness… this will be with me for a long time. The level of sound was mind altering!!
She also noted how cool it was to see a counter-culture dressed in interesting ‘costumes’ with those ‘lit up gloves’.
My sister said really enjoyed Lorin’s stage presence and how he practically casts spells and makes the masses obey his work by controlling the visuals and his live mixing. It was good enough for her to do ‘The Bernie’ dance, so that definitely says something. She assured me they were Bassheads in full effect that night.
I guess I couldn’t be happier about this. It is pretty fucking cool.
