My ex-boyfriend gave my parents a cup on his last visit here. Said cup has been staring at me from the kitchen shelf for a few months. Every cup of tea I’ve intentionally poured into a different cup than the one he got my parents has been a cup of aversion. Today I poured my tea into his cup. Turns out the cup is empty, of course – so is the history of the relationship. Feels good.
