Mohammad came over five hundred years after Christ. So, Islam is the latest of all major religions in this world. That is why, from evolutionary point of view, it is lagging at least five hundred years behind from other major religions of the world. In other words, Muslim world has just now started to face what has been going on in western and Christian world for last few centuries. The newer and younger generations in Muslim world are welcoming the progressive and liberal ideas of change, which is enormously threatening the religious status quo, just like it has been in West. So, the religious establishment, is retaliating with full force, mostly violent. Trust me, current violence and terrorism is not originating in West. It is originating from within Muslim world, against the forces of change. Only difference is that. in West the ideas have been originating from within, that is why the religious rage is against it’s own people, while in Muslim world they are perceived to be originating in West, so it is considered a cultural invasion from West and the rage is directed towards West. This may sound really weird to many readers of this article in United States and other Western countries, but it is a fact that traditionally, most support for the progressive forces of change in Muslim world did not come from West or China. It came from Soviet Union. So, Soviet Union used to be focus of religious hate and rage. After the fall of Soviet Union, the progressive forces of change, lost the source of their major support and Soviet Union became a useless target for religious hate groups. So, now, it is redirected to West. Historically, religion cannot survive and flourish without an enemy and continuous perception of threat. So, religious establishments have always been looking for enemies’ Obviously, since Soviet infidels have not remain very significant, West, Christianity, Jewish and Hindu majority, India, are now better targets. Of course, most powerful of them is, mostly Christian, West. So, they are the best help in this struggle for survival. Strategy is to keep scaring Muslims about the cultural invasion from powerful and predominantly Christian, West, and that will keep them excited about the survival struggle for their religion, Islam. On the other hand, the fellow Christian, Jewish and Hindu, religious establishment benefits with the threat from Muslim terrorism. Throughout the course of history, the religions have benefited each other with this insurgency and counter-insurgency. The idea is to make our people hate each other, and that will keep all of us in business. Historically, these establishments, have been propagating hate against each other, while making their kids marry each other. Mohammad married a slave, Maria Qubtia, gifted to him by a Roman royalty. Remember, in West, even after seriously bloody French revolution, American civil war and centuries of struggle, we still cannot get equal rights for gays; cannot end discrimination; having hard time in keeping abortion legal; cannot abolish death penalty; and cannot legalize drugs, beside serious resistance to many other desperately needed changes. This pressure is still so intensive that even the progressive leaders like President Obama are having hard time in keeping religion and politics separate. In Muslim world, since the change is in initial stage, the hopes are even higher. They still believe that they can have Islamic (Shariah) laws in place. curb sexual freedom, keep women isolated and head to toe covered in home, deny basic human rights, keep segregation and segregated institutions alive. Unfortunately, after 9/11 and other acts of violence and terrorism, there has been a generalized reaction against all Muslims, around the world. This is just another blow to the progressive forces of change in Muslim world. After loosing critical support from Soviet Union, they are now increasingly loosing their support from West, too. They are getting more and more isolated and powerless. Fall of Soviet Union has already placed pro-soviet and Socialist groups in jeopardy. Now, pro-West, democratic and capitalist groups are in danger. too. This is exactly what these violent and terrorist religious groups want. Trust me, this is not the time to give up on these progressive forces of change in Muslim world. Right now, they need our support more than ever. With ever increasing violence and terror, it is getting even harder to be even called or recognized as progressive or liberal. In many cases it is seriously life threatening, and progressives are risking everything they have, including family, home, possessions, wealth, business and jobs. Muslim world is going through a French revolution and a civil war of their own. It is expected to just intensify with the passage of time. There seems to be no end in near future. We just have to keep our hopes high and keep struggling for freedom. It is going to require a lot more sacrifices. The road ahead is even harder and longer. But, it is really worthwhile, to fight for freedom. We do not want to inherit the same suppressive systems to the next generations, specially to our young girls, who’s moms and older sisters have sacrificed a lot under the oppression. We are sure that with steadfastness and continuous struggle, our brothers and sisters in Muslim world will be liberated. This liberation will definitely not come by invading more and more Muslim countries. These invasions and wars are just strengthening and helping the cause of extremists, who are telling Muslims that Americans and Westerners are in Iraq and Afghanistan, and they can be anywhere, anytime. Wake up and don’t give them anymore chances. Unite for your survival. Their biggest partners in crime have been George W. Bush and Tony Blair. They cannot thank enough. Who says that every one in West is against them? Progressives in Muslim world need leaders like Martin Luther King, who can peacefully lead the way to freedom and equal rights for everyone. We have to continue to provide the best possible support for progressives in Muslim world. We must know that revolutions and change cannot be imposed from outside. A durable and long lasting change always come from inside and depends on the free will of people, involved and affected.
