Life arrived on earth free. There were no masters, made-up laws, authority, coercion, culture, or traditions. Every newborn was free. The only laws in existence were natural laws, which are still the only valid ones, and parental authority. Natural laws are immutable. Life is free within the bounds and limitations of natural laws. You can jump off the sixth floor, but you will also bear the consequences. Parental authority is also a natural requirement. Because most newborns in most species are weak, with limited capacities and have various levels of dependence for survival and prosperity, are naive, with minimal knowledge of the natural world, and almost nonexistent survival skills, they must remain under parental authority, control, and mentorship until they attain the full capacity to survive and prosper independently.
Every individual is born with incredible intuition, imagination, intelligence, spiritual strength, unhinged pursuit of happiness, and the ability to cooperate for good. Individuals do miracles when they can sustain their natural and absolute freedom. Unfortunately, starting from parental and family control, although essential for the survival and growth of species, all the power and authority come with inherent weaknesses and drawbacks. Every authority figure, individual or institutional, has preconceived ideas that might have been outdated, faulty, erroneous, harmful, entropic, and highly inertial. These are very likely to hinder the growth and evolution of individual minds, freedom, imagination, creativity, innovation, and behavior, while all nature intended to expect from authority was to help newborns learn natural laws and realize the benefits of compliance, adverse consequences of violations, create, innovate, and invent to harness, accelerate, multiply, exaggerate, inflate, and harvest the power, energy, benefits, rewards, fruits, and pleasures of natural laws.
Unfortunately, most authority figures quickly assume they are the final authority figures. The incentives and motivations for this might be highly varied. In the case of parents, it could be purely love and care. In other instances, past bad experiences and dire consequences might lead to fear. It might be a vicious desire to control at any cost in severe cases. Unfortunately, the story of life, particularly of human life, is that the restraints, constraints, and limitations on human freedom kept increasing vertically and horizontally in an exponential manner. Every newborn would come to this world with much less freedom. The dimensions of limitations grew from parents to family, to tribes, to communities, to cities, to states, to so-called international laws.
These outer layers were increasingly more motivated by the motives of power, control, and coercion. The well-being, growth, and prosperity of the individuals being controlled rapidly became less and less of a concern. Unlike the parents and family, these outer, more significant, powerful, and intense layers did not have many fundamental incentives like love, care, and concern. The ultimate motive was to exploit the individuals, their capacities, productivities, minds, physical strength, and wealth to benefit a tiny elite group. First, there were gods. Because they were the creators of humans, we were supposed to be their slaves.
A complete surrender and obedience were the only choices. Humans were merely slaves and fodder for wars among gods. When wars between gods massively destroyed civilization, everything fell apart. Life on earth was devastated by murder, destruction, famines, poverty, destitution, and conflict, and humans got utterly fed up with the gods; they handed over the authority to the demigods, who were the hybrids products of sex and marriages between sons of gods and the daughters of men. Since these demigods had one human parent, the masses were deceived and accepted their authority. Human hopes were very high. Lots of humans were ready to die and gave their lives to these demigods.
It worked for a while. But the ultimate results were still the same—wars, destruction, bloodshed, destitution, poverty, and conflict. Humans started revolting against them as well. So, the gods pulled their strings from the background again, and kinship was descended to humans. Now, the so-called royals, who inherited the genes of gods that got diluted over many generations, were in charge. Humans were happy that their own were now in control. Hopes went very high once again. Lots of people sacrificed everything for the cause. It, too, worked for a while. Then again, surprisingly, the same old gave the same results—wars, destruction, bloodshed, destitution, poverty, and conflict.
Humans were in revolt again. So, the gods pulled the strings again. A new group of thinkers and thought controllers appeared. They claimed to have replaced the priests. As we were told, these thinkers analyzed the cause of the same results every time. And then, they revealed their verdict and diagnosis. It was the marriage between state and religion that caused all this mess. So, it said a divorce between religion and state will do it. Hence, these two power centers will be separated. But there is a significant problem. Kings used to rule with divine right. Where will the king get his authority if religion and state are separated? How will we know who the right king is? And what will be the confinements for kings if not the divine law?
So, two new solutions were crafted. One was a book that would replace the holy book as the code for life. It was called the Constitution. It will create a secular state—no more kingdoms and monarchies. The ruler will not come from the divine right. He will be elected of the people, by the people, and for the people. The new political system will be called Democracy. Hopes were very high again. Lots of people sacrifice a lot for the cause. One must admit that every successive system has been better than the previous ones, and we have achieved more property and some freedom on the way. But, overall, we have been on the same course—wars, destruction, bloodshed, destitution, poverty, and conflict. The reason is that we are still doing the same and expecting different results. We must eliminate the root cause of all the violence in the world forever: The Coercive Authority.
