T.I. AND AKON – on the same stage in one huge night! Planetroc is thrilled to announce Australia’s hottest new urban music show. The inaugural event, Episode One, hits our shores this October with three epic shows in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
After years of anticipation, T.I. will perform in Australia for the very first time. Also known as T.I.P. and “Rubberband Man”, T.I. established himself as one of rap’s greatest and most successful MCs during the early 2000’s. He has released eight studio albums with his most recent, Trouble Man: Heavy Is the Head, his hottest seller.
As well as his musical achievements, T.I. has had successful movies roles including American Gangster (2007) alongside Denzel Washington, Takers and most recently Identity Thief. T.I. is currently selling out arenas with Lil Wayne in the US, and after too long a wait, Aussie audiences are next in for the treat.
Joining T.I. is international multi-platinum recording artist and producer Akon. As soon as you hear Akon’s voice, you know it’s him. His shimmering, soulful voice has propelled countless hits across genre – from pop and R&B to hip hop and dance. In addition to his own chart-dominating singles “Smack That” and “I Wanna Love You”, he’s made a staggering 300 guest appearances for icons including Michael Jackson, Lady Gaga, Gwen Stefani, Lil Wayne, R. Kelly, and Eminem. With 12 million albums sold worldwide, five Grammy Award nominations, and 45 Billboard Hot 100 songs under his belt, he’s simply unstoppable.
As well as two of the biggest household names in the game, Planetroc will bring Australia the hottest rapper on the streets of New York right now, French Montana. Moroccon born French is known for his frequent collaborations with Max B, and more recently with Rick Ross along with his group Coke Boys. In 2012, he signed a joint venture recording deal with Maybach Music Group and Bad Boy Records after a fierce bidding war with several labels. His highly anticipated official debut album is currently being produced by Sean “Diddy” Combs.
Planetroc’s Episode One will be this year’s biggest urban show. It’s gonna be wild – don’t miss out!
