Unit 2 -Effective communication and person-centred care- Here you will explore communication techniques and the possible barriers. You will then cover how to work with emotional reactions that can come about in difficult situations. Unit 3 – Care plans and assessments for end of life care- Next you will explore the care plans and assessments that are relevant to end of life care. Person-centred care will also be covered and why it is the most important approach to providing care when someone is at the end of their life. Unit 4 – The role of the care worker – In this unit you will explore the concepts of dignity and comfort in relation to end of life care and the importance of these for the care worker, whose role it is to assure they are carried out for individuals who are approaching end of life care. Unit 5 – Final hours of care and the care of bereavement – In our final unit you will consider what happens during the final hours of someone’s life and what happens once death has taken place. The legal responsibilities after death will also be covered.
