The unit will end with two case studies that outline the impact that neglect can have on children. Unit 4 – Parenting Differences – This unit examines what kind of parenting styles can lead to children being neglected. In this unit you will also consider the threshold of needs that are used by children’s services to determine the kinds of support needed if concerns are raised that a child is experiencing neglect. Unit 5 – Reporting and Responding to Child Neglect Concerns – In this final unit of our Child Neglect Awareness course you will examine the procedures taken when a cause for concern is reported and how children’s services respond. You will also explore the systems that are in place showing what happens at each stage of a formal investigation into an allegation of neglect.
