We recently reported on Spotify’s new Connect service, which allows users to seamlessly transfer actively playing Spotify playlists to other devices such as A/V receivers and wireless speaker systems via WiFi. Unfortunately, any excitement over auditioning the new service was cut short for many because a necessary piece of hardware (a particular microchip) must be present in said device to work with the new streaming music feature.

However, recent news from Yamaha should give many users (especially those with newer Yamaha receivers) reason to, well, re-celebrate. While details are still murky, Yamaha has released a list of its current receivers that already incorporate the coveted chip, providing a few lucky Yamaha owners who want to sign-up for Spotify’s premium service a whole new way to play.

The recently published list of Connect-compatible Yamaha gear already on the market includes most of Yamaha’s networked receiver line. To see if yours made the cut, check out the full list below.

As we previously reported, other AV companies such as Argon, Bang & Olufsen, Denon, Marantz, Philips, Pioneer, Revo, and Teufel will also reportedly be compatible with the new service, although at this time, it’s unclear whether the Connect chips are present in devices from the list that are already on the street. It’s also important to remember that there are other ways to stream to your hi-fi with Spotify, such as Bluetooth and Airplay. But the company is hoping to streamline your streaming through its own proprietary feature.

Users with the compatible gear who want to try Connect will be required to download a firmware update, as well as upgrade to Spotify’s premium service, if not already subscribed. Information is still coming in, but for now, here’s a full list of the Yamaha receivers with Connect-friendly chips already on-board:

AVENTAGE Preamplifier: CX-A5000

AVENTAGE series AV receivers: RX-A3030, RX-A2030, RX-A1030, RX-A830, RX-A730

RX-V series AV receivers: RX-V775WA, RX-V675, RX-V575, RX-V475

RX-S series slim AV receivers: RX-S600
