The best advice I received was to take responsibility for your career progression.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

“The best advice I received was to take responsibility for your career progression. Stop just letting it happen to you. My mentor believes that you should always be thinking of the next thing, even when you are happy and thriving in a role.

In terms of advice I give, it is: network, network, network. Inside of your organization, within your industry, across your community…you get the idea. Don’t be afraid to reach out to a woman you would like to know. Nearly everyone is willing to spend 15 minutes talking about their experience, and contributing to yours. At the end of your 15-minute conversation be sure to ask the question ‘Who else do you suggest I connect with?’ and open the door for your next connection.”
