What is a trigger point? It is a highly irritated area within a skeletal muscle or muscle fascia. This point is painful to palpate and can cause muscle tension, vegetative reactions and projected pain. These trigger points are formed when the body wants to avoid too much tension on a joint or a muscle, in reaction to a trauma, an intensive physical activity, a negative stress or even after a period of sedentary life.The aim of this book, structured in different muscle sheets, is to effectively target the points, to understand their appearance and to relieve them with adapted gestures and techniques.
