Description
This charming clay figurine was made by hand in the state of Puebla, Mexico. It is representative of El Dia De Los Muertos (Day of the Dead), an annual celebration held every November in the villages of Mexico. Communities gather in local cemeteries to honor departed loved ones and to celebrate the joy of living. Altars are constructed and filled with offerings for the dead, such as flowers, liquor, candy and food. These skeletons or calacas are meant to depict a joyful and active afterlife, and can be used as decoration for your own Halloween or Day of the Dead celebrations.
