Description
The Levi’s ® Vintage Clothing 1950’s 701 ® is the first five-pocket jean crafted especially for women. It was originally introduced in 1939 and featured in a dude ranch photo shoot for Vogue magazine. Like the 501 ® of the time, this early version of the 701 ® had a cinched back, curved top block and wide, straight leg. By the 1950’s, it had lost the cinch back, but still maintained its distinct high-waisted fit. Remaining faithful to the original, we have made this jean with signature selvedge stitching in pink instead of the traditional red. We have also included the Talon zipper “the original zipper, manufactured since 1893.
