Description

Brut Reserve is our most robust expression of who we are and what we believe: Creating wines that are an authentic reflection of a time and place. We like to think of it as Keeping it Honest..Bright golden in colour with a fine, delicate mousse and aromas of pear, mandarin and orange blossom on the nose. The palate is dominated by citrus and orchard fruit, with ripe lemon juice, orange and pear, alongside stone fruits and hints of ginger. The wine displays notes of freshly baked bread and apple Tarte Tatin, with a long length and lively freshness on the finish. Vintage Report – Good levels of winter rainfall left the soil in optimum condition for the upcoming season. Bud burst in mid-April was followed by a period of abundant warmth and early flowering in June. In early August the fruit was thinned, and 50% dropped, to intensify flavour and concentration as well as ensure optimum quality. Warmth and sunshine from June to September meant the fruit was of an outstanding quality and picked at the perfect time. The original Gusbourne Estate in Appledore, Kent dates back to 1410. The de Goosebourne family crest was made up of three geese and can be found in our local parish church in Appledore – nowadays, each and every bottle of wine crafted at Gusbourne carries a contemporary goose crest in honour of our heritage. This Goosemark is a symbol of trust, representing our pursuit of uncompromising quality.nIn 2004, Andrew Weeber took over the estate with a clear vision and a single goal: to create English sparkling wines that would stand up alongside the very finest offerings from across the globe. The first vines were planted that year.nA combination of the best age-old traditions with modern technology and cutting-edge equipment allows us to sit comfortably between old and new world winemaking, while at the same time bringing our own exacting quality standards to the process. Respect for the vineyards, the fruit and the natural elements involved in winemaking means that our approach favours minimal intervention.
