The unit will finish by exploring a real life case study relating to honour-based violence. Unit 2 – Violence, abuse and its effects – Next you will explore some of the forms of honour-based violence in more detail, you will then consider what the signs and behaviours are that may indicate that abuse is taking place. Unit 3 -How to recognise that someone is at risk – Here you will be introduced to some ideas about why individuals may be forced into marriage. You will then look at the indicators that someone is at risk of forced marriage or is already in one. The unit will then end by covering some of the legislation relating to forced marriage. Unit 4 – Multi Agency Roles – In this unit you will explore what multi-agency working is and what it helps enable to happen. You will the look at each agency that could be involved and what their role is. Unit 5 – The effects that forced marriage and honour-based violence can have on victims – In this unit you will consider the impact of forced marriage and honour-based violence. You will be introduced to what is meant by the ‘one chance’ rule and how you can apply it. Unit 6 – Support for Staff – In our final unit you will consider the impacts that working with people who have been subject to violence can have on professionals. You will then look at what professional burnout is. The unit will finish by looking at positive self-coping strategies that you can use.
