Description

Made from younger vines (20 years old), this Chteauneuf has the pepperiness and depth and warmth that this appellation is famed for, but Tlgramme gives that and more – rich and smoky with layers of red berries and coffee. The perfect partner to a tender beef fillet.nGrapes are hand-picked, with double sorting at the vine, then a third sorting in the winery. They are destemmed, followed by 25-30 days traditional fermentation in temperature-controlled vats. Pneumatic pressing, then systematic malolactic fermentation. The wine remains in vats for 10 months, then in French oak foudres (30 hl) for about 7 months. Bottled at 15-16 months, released at 18 months.nVieux Tlgraphe is one of the most renowned estates of the Southern Rhne. The large Domain has about 45 hectares of red grapevines planted, with an average age of around 55 years. Blessed with one of the finest locations in the area, the particularly hot microclimate is such that the Brunier Family, owners of the estate for almost a century, are able to harvest as much as a week ahead of their neighbours. The family run Brunier estate encompasses around 70 Ha across the windswept, arid and desolate Le Crau plateau and their wines are arguably the top wines from the whole appellation.
