The ripe summer fruit flavours excel with delicatessen meats. The Perrin family have been making wine for four centuries at their rural idyll near Ternand in southern Beaujolais. Their vineyards (scene of a medieval conflict involving 1000 men) spread out in a south-facing amphitheatre of flaking granite. Bernard Perrin remains modest despite his wines often being voted ‘Best of the Vintage’.nThis estate, owned by the Perrin family, is well situated in the granite hills above the village of Ternand. The wine shows good intensity with an attractive raspberry perfume and cherry fruit on the palate.
