Calculating The Number Of Panels You Need Trying to figure out how many panels you need might be daunting, but it is actually quite simple ” all you need is a measuring tape, a calculator and some knowledge about how well insulated your home is. Start out by measuring the length, width and height of your room in metres, and multiplying all these figures together, which will give you the volume in m3. Then, you™ll need to figure out how much heat you need per m3, which will depend on how well insulated your home is. Poorly insulated homes need 30W per m3, moderately insulated homes need 25W per m3, whilst well insulated homes only need around 20W per m3. The final step is to multiply the recommended amount of power by the volume of the room, which gives you the total amount of power needed. So for example, if you total requirement is 1500W, then a single 1100W panel and a 350W panel would be sufficient.
