Paragraphs of the Week – #2 : Handwriting

New Brand

Welcome to another week! Week 1 went fairly well, there was a decent amount of discussion and it was unexpected to see how many people wrote all five paragraphs.

To reduce the number of generic threads asking for tips, it would be great if you could post within this thread. Get in early and I’m sure people will be happy to help with what they can, but be specific and maybe point out what you want to improve on.

Want to try a new style? I recommend using this site, it has a good variety of fonts 🙂

Without further ado, here are the paragraphs!

"Vern didn’t just mean being off limits inside the junkyard, or fudging on our folks, or going on a hike up the railroad to Harlow. He meant those things, but it seems to me now it was more and that we all knew it. Everything was there and around us. We knew exactly who we were and exactly where we were going. It was grand." – Stand by Me (1986)

“It is a fair, even-handed, noble adjustment of things, that while there is infection in disease and sorrow, there is nothing in the world so irresistibly contagious as laughter and good humour.” – Charles Dickens, A Christmas Carol (1843)

“Like seeing a photograph of yourself as a child, encountering handwriting that you know was once yours but that now seems only dimly familiar can inspire a confrontation with the mystery of time.” – Francine Prose

"The leader can never close the gap between himself and the group. If he does, he is no longer what he must be. He must walk a tightrope between the consent he must win and the control he must exert." – Vince Lombardi

“You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view… Until you climb inside of his skin and walk around in it.” – Harper Lee, To Kill a Mockingbird (1960)

Remember, these are just suggestions for those who don’t have anything to write. Feel free to write whatever you want, maybe it’ll be a quote we can use next week!

Here’s my attempt at quote 2. First, I went as neat as possible (my hand hurts from pressing the pen down), and then writing at normal speed. Nothing special 😛

I also wrote a paragraph of my homework in cursive 🙂
