Evidence is mounting that China led, and Russia sponsored, anti-U.S. alliance is rapidly gaining impetus and power, in terms of influence, size, power, money and support, thanks to our ridiculous, imperialistic policies in last couple of decades. Keeping the fact that China and Russia are sitting on huge amounts of cash, while we are being increasingly crushed by debt, mostly owned by China, this is a very dangerous global development and trend. This also shows, how bad of a job our big media and politicians are doing in educating our people. Unfortunately, the days when world used to hate socialist and communist countries, seem to going away, very quick. On the other hand, we are being replaced as the target of that hate, in a very disturbing manner.

Our decades old policies of sticking our leg into everyone else’s business, are now resulting into the obvious consequences. Our media gives us the impression that North Korea, Iran and Pakistan are being increasingly isolated from international community. The fact of the matter is totally opposite. These countries are actually, now, are a part of rapidly growing global alliance. On the other hand, we seem to be increasingly isolated from international community. Our politicians and media couldn’t have done a worse job.

To understand this situation, we need to analyze some basic issues, related to these countries and us, in depth and with neutrality. To do this in a correct and effective way, we must also set aside, all the propaganda from our big media and politicians, and have a clean slate.

Pakistan is a U.S, ally since 1948. Soon after partition and independence, while Indian leadership allied itself with Soviet Union, Pakistan preferred United States. These foreign policy measures by the two countries were basically the result of a war between India and Pakistan in 1948. Indians hoped that based on their size, they can get a much better support from neighboring Russia, in case of a serious conflict with Pakistan, while Pakistanis tried to rely on West. In 1965, there was another war between India and Pakistan. The ties between Soviet Union and United States were still very strained and Indians were was broadly regarded as Soviet allies. In spite of it’s size, the global influence was still nothing, which grew rapidly in later years. So, Pakistan got fairly good support from West. Third war between two countries was fought in 1971. The tables were turned over quite a bit in last six years. India, while still in very strong defense and economic ties with Soviet Union, had gained a rapidly growing western interest in it’s very large population, as potential markets. So, west was very reluctant to help Pakistan against this Soviet ally, to safeguard it’s trade interests with India. Pakistan lost this war really bad. It’s other half, East Pakistan was severed and Bangladesh came into being. With very insignificant help from West, Pakistan was economically and financially devastated. The nation was demoralized and reacted seriously against it’s, so called, western allies. This was the beginning of hate for West in Pakistan, which had been very popular there, so far.

Up to this point, Pakistan was ruled by military and civilian dictators. Forced by devastation caused by war, generals and dictators were forced to hand over the power to first elected Prime Minister, Zulfiquar Ali Bhutto. Bhutto had degrees from Harvard and Oxford. But, his party, Pakistan Peoples Party, was social Democrats. Contrary to the dictators, so far, he was very patriotic, bold, aggressive, intelligent and politically savvy. Soon after taking over, he publically torn down the SEATO and CENTO treaties with western countries and pulled Pakistan out of common wealth. For the first time in Pakistan’s history, he built and enthusiastically implemented, a comprehensive foreign policy. It was based on three basic principles:

1. Strengthening ties with China.
2. Building and leading a very strong third world block.
3. Building and leading alliance of Islamic countries.
He also said that they cannot rely on western countries for their defense against far bigger India. He emphasized the policy of self sufficiency and deterrence. For this purpose, he jacked up the industrial and technological research in Pakistani universities and started Pakistan’s nuclear program. India already had a nuclear program running since 1947 and had already tested a nuclear device. The response of so called western allies on that was sluggish and meager.
Pakistanis, devastated by war and even more threatened by India’s progress in nuclear technology, passionately supported the policies of insanely popular Bhutto. Obviously, because of his intensely independent thinking and behavior, and extremely charismatic, popular and intelligent leadership, he was hated by West. They did not like that this strategically very important country was slipping out of their hands. As usual the policy makers in West were not blaming their ridiculous policies for that. They were blaming, so called, socialist Bhutto for it.
On the other hand, it was getting clear that Russia’s centuries old dream of owning hot waters and serious political instability in Afghanistan is forcing it to invade Afghanistan. In that case, West would inevitably need Pakistan. But, the problem was that they could not rely on extremely independent Bhutto for those ambitions. In 1976, the elections were held. PPP (Pakistan Peoples Party) won, as expected. But, CIA and other western intelligence agencies, did not want to let this opportunity slip away. Rigging in elections was claimed and an opposition alliance was formed, financed by western intelligence agencies. To understand, how bogus was the rigging blame, you need to know even decades after the politico-legal assassination of Bhutto, it is impossible to defeat PPP in general elections. Alliance was mostly made up of religious political parties, which badly lost the elections, once again. Unfortunately, this alliance had significant support in some large cities of Pakistan, and with the help of western intelligence agencies, they were able to disrupt some big cities. General Zia-Ul-Haque, a CIA agent, was the chief of army staff of Pakistan. CIA has always been, and still is, very influential in Pakistani civil and military bureaucracy. This is another reason why Pakistanis blame United States for unbelievable corruption in civil and military bureaucracy in Pakistan. General Zia threw away elected PPP government and got involved in Afghanistan war, which caused a huge influx of religious terrorists, arms, drugs and refugees in Pakistan. About thirty millions of Afghan refugees came to Pakistan, vast majority of which never went back.
