The announcements from IFA 2013 just keep coming, with Lenovo today announcing a brand new 5-inch smartphone and 7-inch tablet, following big reveals from Sony and Samsung.

The Vibe X is a new inclusion to Lenovo’s premium smartphone range, bringing along specifications that we’ve come to love from other high-end devices. The handset features a 5-inch, 1080p IPS LCD display protected by Gorilla Glass 3, a 13-megapixel rear camera with a backside-illuminated sensor, and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera: a feature which is becoming popular among Chinese-made devices.

Internally, Lenovo has gone for a MediaTek MT6589T SoC, which includes a 1.5 GHz quad-core ARM Cortex-A7 CPU and a PowerVR SGX544 GPU alongside HSPA+ and TD-SCDMA radios for Chinese mobile networks. There’s also 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage in the Vibe X’s 6.9mm thick "laser-engraved 3D tactile" body, as well as a 2,000 mAh battery.

The S5000 is Lenovo’s new entry-level 7-inch tablet, featuring a 1280 x 800 IPS LCD display, a MediaTek MT8389 SoC with a 1.2 GHz quad-core ARM Cortex-A7 CPU, 16 GB of storage, a 5-megapixel rear camera, and 1 GB of RAM. The 3,450 mAh battery is a little undersized compared to the Nexus 7’s 3,950 mAh battery, but Lenovo claims the "ultra mobile" tablet will still be good for eight hours of usage.

Both devices come with Android 4.2 out of the box, and Lenovo indicates that both will be made available in China first, with the Vibe X coming in October and the S5000 coming in Q4 2013. Lenovo specifically states that the Vibe X will not be coming to Europe, although it will be available (outside China) in "countries where Lenovo smartphones are sold" in December.
