My grandfather was a multi-millionaire and set up a trust to take care our family after he and my grandmother passed. He appointed a bank to be the trustee and make distributions. The bank decided to make distributions to my mothers generation (as well as my cousins since their mothers are deceased)but not to me even though my grandfather appointed me as one of the beneficiaries.
I had a good career up until 2008 but lost my job and spent two years searching for a new job before finally giving up and leaving the US to teach English overseas for minimum wage.
I’ve talked to lawyers and they said that I may have a case but that I’d need to pay attorney’s fees in excess of $10,000 to fight which I can’t afford because of my current situation. And the bank would use my families money to fight back. Ask me anything about the situation..
EDIT 1: Am I wrong or greedy to feel bothered by this?
EDIT 2: If anyone knows a lawyer who might be able to help, please feel free to let me know. Or maybe anyone from the media that thinks this is worth of a story/article to expose a bank denying a beneficiary.
