It has over a year since the /r/CanadianForces Reddiquette was brought up. We have had some massive growth in that time & now boast over 2,000 members. I would like to think that we have done a lot of good in this subreddit. Answering questions, being supportive, sharing our experiences, and even the occasional chuckle.
With this growth, however, there is an expected downturn as well. Due to this I am reposting our Reddiquette, with a few tweaks, and ask that everyone please adhere to them. These aren’t so much "Rules" as they are "Guidelines So Banks Doesn’t Gain Access To Your Pay & Freeze It"
That last bit is a joke… Maybe.
This is NOT the place to troll and be disrespectful. You will be warned and/or banned for doing so.
No calls for witch-hunts or hate mongering on the Canadian Armed Forces. i.e.: If you post something like "You people want perpetual war just so you can see combat. I’ll have to remember not to wander into this hive of stupidity ever again. The less people exposed to this lunatic war cult the better." You WILL be banned from this subreddit.
No posts encouraging someone to blatantly lie to their recruiter. Honesty will always look better on you in the end.
Obvious OPSEC violations will be deleted & the user potentially banned.
No Reservist bashing. Simple jokes are fine, but blatant malice will result in a warning. If it continues you will be banned.
No element bashing. While you may be in the Army, RCAF, or RCN, we’re all members of the Canadian Armed Forces. Same as with Reserve members, light ribbing is OK, just nothing malicious.
Please report spam or otherwise inappropriate posts by messaging the mods, this will help us immensely.
Vote. The up and down arrows are your tools to make this subreddit what you want it to be. If you think something contributes to conversation, upvote it. If you think it does not contribute or is significantly off-topic in a particular community, downvote it. That being said, do not downvote based solely on the fact one member is "Army" & you are "Navy" aligned.
